A Web Site for Puslinch Township Launched on January 1, 2001 is a new web site designed to serve the needs of residents and visitors of Puslinch Township. The new site is actually more of a community network as it provides information about Puslinch Township, its organizations, businesses and people. It also offers online services such as web site design and web site hosting. The Puslinch network is located at "www.puslinch.net" and uses the top level domain suffix ".net" because it is a network, not a commercial business site which would use the more common ".com" suffix . The new Puslinch site will be a portal site giving residents access to information about where they live.
The focus is on topics of interest to the residents of Puslinch Township, and submissions and suggestions from residents are encouraged. It will also provide a directory of links to businesses and volunteer organizations serving the community. The site is privately operated, so advertising is required to pay the bills. However, the advertising will be done in moderation--2 or 4 small ads per page. And the ads will have to conform to a strict format--the ads will be static, with no flashing graphics or text. There will be no foreign ads, trying to trick the viewer to go there. The site will feature Puslinch and area ads only, so the advertiser knows the viewer is a local consumer and the consumer knows the business is local. If you have an idea for an article or have written an article or have a comment about puslinch.net, please contact the webmaster. The site is new and is trying to to improve it's service, so any suggestions are welcome. As April is accessibility month, in April of 2001, puslinch.net was approved by the Center for Applied Special Technology as meeting the criteria for being accessible to users with disabilities. As such, puslinch.net is proud to display the "Bobby Approved" logo on the home page. If you wish to reproduce any written or graphic material from this site, please ask for my permission. Please note: This web site is not affiliated with the Puslinch Township Office--it is privately operated by a community oriented Puslinch resident. This means that I cannot answer questions about the Township administration such as; by-laws, building codes, which roads get plowed or when garbage is picked up. Nor can I send out Township pins, provide maps or give out tourist information. Please use the phone numbers povided on the Township page for such inquiries. But I do make every effort to respond to the questions I can answer about Puslinch. |
