Butterscotch Squares


Servings: 16 squares
Time: 40 minutes

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped



    Melt butter in medium size saucepan. Stir in brown sugar. Cool slightly and beat in well the egg and vanilla.
    Add and mix in flour, baking powder and nuts. Pour batter into greased and floured 8" x 8" pan. Bake
    at 350°F for 30 minutes. Cut into bars.




    Comments: These are very quick and easy to make. They are best eaten the same day and go well with
    a fruit salad or ice cream.
