The Wellington County library system is comprised of 13 branches spread around the county, with a central library/headquarters located in Elora. Puslinch is the southernmost branch, serving a community of just over 5,000 residents.
Our collection is growing and we can offer, in addition to regular books, talking books (tape or CD), video (VHS or DVD) interactive multimedia, and magazines for children and adults.
We have access to all the items in the Wellington County system and we have an excellent delivery system for those who request items not found on our shelves.
We can give professional help in finding employment. We also offer internet access to independent researchers.
We host a weekly Story Time for children aged 3 to 5 years. It is held on Friday mornings from 10.00 am. - 11.00am. Sessions run for 6 weeks. Phone for details and to register.

The Librarians are Janet Dagenais and Frankie Shaw

Lines from the Library (January 2004)
By Frankie Shaw
It seems that everyone has heard about Mr Harry Potter and his doings; his name crops up in the most unlikely places. A lesser known name here, though, is that of Lemony Snicket, author of the Series of Unfortunate Events. The first one entitled The Bad Beginning was published in 1999, and by the time the New York Times started its bestseller list for children's books in 2000, five of the series were on the top-10 list. Last year the tenth in the series, The Slippery Slope, was eagerly grabbed by those in the know, and that, too, went straight onto the best seller lists. More than 13 million copies of the series has been sold and they've been translated into 37 languages in more than 40 countries. They are ‘distressing, nerve-wracking stories' and although Mr Snicket clearly warns children NOT to read them, they are happily delving between the covers. ‘Very bad things happen to three orphans and although they are un-nervingly good, smart, problem-solving children, and although they narrowly escape true disaster in each book by relying on their wits, bad things still keep happening to them'. Snicket's books reveal a dry and smart sense of humour, which keeps everything in perspective , although the poor orphans good behaviour is not always rewarded.
We have all ten books in the series on the Wellington County Library shelves.
