Lines from the Library (February 2002)
By Frankie Shaw
Anyone visiting the library recently cannot fail to have noticed just how bright the place is nowadays, thanks to the Township installing new lights for us. Now, the phrase bright and cheerful perfectly describes the atmosphere here. We've always been cheerful, but now we are positively illumined. Browsing the 700's? No problem! All is revealed as we sparkle our way down the aisles. Charged with planning a trip? Well lighten up and look in the 900s. There's no gloom here! Want to read a good story? Looking for new ideas. Come to the library and be enlightened!
The County has initiated a recycling program for computer printer cartridges. We invite you to drop off your used ones in the special container in the library lobby. We hope that this service will become as popular as the fine paper recycling has become and thus help the environment. Individually one can feel so insignificant and ineffective, when faced with what seem to be insurmountable problems, but together, little by little, we can make a difference.
Many thanks to those kind souls who have knitted the delightful teddie bears. The first batch are now on their way to West Africa, thanks to the efforts of the Rotary Club of Wellington South and Liz McCrindle.
