The Wellington County library system is comprised of 13 branches spread around the county, with a central library/headquarters located in Elora. Puslinch is the southernmost branch, serving a community of just over 5,000 residents.
Our collection is growing and we can offer, in addition to regular books, talking books (tape or CD), video (VHS or DVD) interactive multimedia, and magazines for children and adults.
We have access to all the items in the Wellington County system and we have an excellent delivery system for those who request items not found on our shelves.
We can give professional help in finding employment. We also offer internet access to independent researchers.
We host a weekly Story Time for children aged 3 to 5 years. It is held on Friday mornings from 10.00 am. - 11.00am. Sessions run for 6 weeks. Phone for details and to register.

The Librarians are Janet Dagenais and Frankie Shaw

Lines from the Library (June 2004)
By Frankie Shaw
June, and here we are with the school holidays fast approaching. If you are looking for ideas to help your children fill these extended leisure hours, then you might want to consider putting a visit to the library on your list. We have all kinds of books, music, videos and magazines to interest all ages. Our summer Book Club will kick off again at the beginning of July and run until the Fall Fair Day. This year the theme will be 'Dragons, Books and Quests', and we are stocking up on related titles for this TD sponsored programme. At the moment of writing we are not sure that we will get a summer student to help us. If we don't, then you may well see a couple of dragons, breathing fire and brimstone, behind the circulation desk, instead of the helpful, good-natured souls who are usually there!
For those folk who like mysteries without blood, gore and the unmentionable s- -word, you may like to read those gentle novels by Alexander McCall Smith, set in Botswana, about Mma Patience Ramotswe, her assistant and her fiancé. Ever since the first book in the series - the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency - was published, and McCall Smith was named Author of the Year at the British Book Awards and by the Bookseller's Association, the books have gained enormous popularity and a huge following of devoted readers. The Botswana setting, where kindness and hard work is rewarded and discourtesy and sloth are punished, the brilliant characters and the unique writing style of the author with its rhythms, formal turns of phrase and subtle humour will only captivate and charm you. We have all the titles in the series on our shelves. Sorry, I just checked and they are all out on loan. The latest just went out as I was writing this!
We have a few places available for the summer session of 'Calling All Parents'. These sessions will take place here in the library at 7.00pm on the 1st Wednesday of each month, starting in June. For further details please call 763-8026.
