Lines from the Library (August 2002) By Frankie Shaw On-line Service Becomes a Reality in Wellington CountyAfter much anticipation, planning and preparation, on-line service is now available for all residents in Wellington County, who have access to the Internet. With this new development, not only will you be able to search the library catalogue, you will be able to reserve items that are out, so that you will get them as soon as they have been returned; you will be able to check your own records, to see what you have out on loan and when it is due; you will be able to renew items, if they are not wanted by anyone else; you will be able to search for items by branch ( there are 14 branches in Wellington County), or you can look at what is available in any of the other branches. You will be able to order anything from any branch and collect it from the branch which is most convenient for you. You can search by format should you want to look for videos, or books on tape or on compact disc, or magazines. You can search for adult material only, or children's material only or everything at once if you like. The new system is user-friendly and features a children's catalogue with attractive graphics. Of particular interest are the lists of award winners and best sellers. Two new public access computers are available in the library for personal searching and browsing. If you want to start using this great new service and access the library at a time that is convenient for YOU, you must have a valid library card, so check yours right now.
