Original Info

The Wheels in Motion Event will be held on Sunday morning, June 12 at the Puslinch Communinity Center. This is the third year for the the Event and the second year of it being held in Puslinch. Last Year's Event was a huge success and we are hoping this year's Event will be even more popular.

Registration will begin at 10:00. There is a one kilometer or a ten kilometer route that participants can choose to walk, run, bike or skate. There will be door prizes, a raffle, a dunk tank and a free lunch for participants. Also, tee shirts will be available.

Volunteers are needed to help coordinate this event, and sponsors are needed for donations of door prizes and of cash to help pay for the barbeque lunch. To send an e-mail to an organizer click here. Or, you can call co-organizers Jessica and Susan Fielding at 905-659-1050.

Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion invites Canadians of all ages and abilities to come out in communities across Canada on Sunday, June 12, 2005 and wheel, bike, skate, run or walk along a designated course to help raise awareness and funds to improve the quality of life of people with spinal cord injury.

Please participate and help make a difference. Contact us today to get involved.

There are 10,000 people a year who suffer spinal cord injuries. Half the net proceeds from Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion will be directed to priority needs identified to improve the quality of life of people living with a spinal cord injury in event communities. The foundation helps communities with such things as making their local buildings wheelchair accessible. The other half will be directed towards research including the development of a much-needed SCI registry.

Here are some of the volunteers meeting with Rick the week before the event.
