Postscript--June 26

Today Susan and Jessica Fielding held a "Thank You" barbeque and review with some of the volunteers. We all agreed that things went very well for this first year for the Puslinch Event. Several suggestions were made as to how we could improve the Event for next year. Susan pointed out that ours was the first rural Event. Dan, who was the ambassador for both Events said that Guelph, with a population base of 100,000 raised about $21,000, while Puslinch with a population of 6,000 raised over $9,000--what a great show of community spirit! All the volunteers present said they would volunteer again next year! More volunteers are always welcome.

Next year's event will be held June 12. Hope to see you there.

The Outcome

The 2004 Event
The 2004 Event in Puslinch

Our First Rick Hansen Event was a big success! Over $9000 was raised.

A big thank you to Jessica and Susan Fielding for coordinating the Event and to all the volunteers and participants!

Final Update--June 10

We are all set to go! The volunteers are in place. The local corporate donators of raffle prizes have been very supportive and we have over forty prizes--something for everyone. There will even be a silent auction to attend a luncheon with speaker Pat Quinn. The Police will be on the route. There is a free hot dog lunch. Other activities include the Mayor in the Dunk Tank. He could be very wet by the end of the day.

Please bring only leased pets and they will be welcome.

The weather will have no effect on our spirit.

The prizes were on display at the Agricultural Society Chicken Barbeque being help on June 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Community Center. Many tickets were sold and information about the event was distributed.
